Job Description
Shrachi Group is looking for Pipe Welding Operator to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey
- Welding Operations: Operate welding equipment, including gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW), to join pipes and fittings according to project specifications and welding procedures
- Material Preparation: Prepare pipe surfaces for welding by cleaning, beveling, and aligning edges
- Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of pipe joints prior to welding
- Remove contaminants and debris from pipe surfaces to achieve high-quality welds
- Welding Techniques: Use appropriate welding techniques and parameters to achieve sound and defect-free welds
- Monitor welding process variables, including voltage, current, travel speed, and shielding gas flow rate, to maintain weld quality and integrity
- Quality Assurance: Perform visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections of welded joints to verify weld quality and conformance to welding codes and standards
- Identify and address defects or discontinuities in welds through repair or rework procedures
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries during welding operations
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines for handling welding equipment and materials
- Material Handling: Handle and transport pipes, fittings, and welding materials safely and efficiently
- Use material handling equipment, such as cranes, forklifts, and hoists, to move and position heavy components as needed
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including weld logs, inspection reports, and material certifications
- Document welding parameters, procedures, and qualifications for traceability and quality assurance purposes
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other welders, pipefitters, and construction workers to coordinate work activities and achieve project objectives
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, inspectors, and engineers to address welding-related issues and concerns
