Manager - Taxation
Job Description:
- Tax Planning & Implementation :Undertake tax planning for the entire organisation (domestic and international); structure the organisation's operations to maximise tax benefits in line with the tax laws and to achieve the overall organisation goals.
- Reviews proposed major transactions in their formative stages and advises or proposes changes consistent with the overall business purpose and strategy to achieve the best tax results.
- Advises management of the impact of new tax (direct and indirect - sales tax) laws, decisions, regulations and rulings and of proposed legislation in taxation and related areas.
Compliance:
- Represents the organisation and associates on tax matters when dealing with various legislative and administrative authorities. Proposes interpretation of laws, regulations and administration to further the interests of the Company and its subsidiaries and associates.
- Organises and supervises the preparation and submission of ruling requests, refund claims, protests and administrative appeals relating to tax matters; Conducts assessment of income tax, wealth tax and sales tax for the businesses, based on data obtained from Accounts.
- Ensures filing of various tax returns under direct taxes and Sales Tax, makes provision for taxes and authorises payment of tax dues; Resolves any issues related to domestic and foreign tax laws.
- Keeps abreast of the tax regulations and seeks exemptions/benefits wherever applicable e.g. gets R&D exemptions, EOU, backward area and other benefits.
- Coordinates for tax audits, R&D Expense audits, Transfer pricing studies and other audits as per tax laws.
