Shift Engineer - CP

Role & responsibilities

• Managing the Panel operation in CP-4/5 for achievement of production, quality and safety targets
• Monitoring the process parameters and taking corrective action as per SOP and SOC in various sections of CP (Esterification, Polymerization, Additives, Chipper, Raw material handling etc.).
• To co-ordinate with Field Engineer and taking corrective action in panel for smooth functioning of the plant
• To manage the plant operation in Emergency condition like Power failure, utilities failure etc. as per the directive of the shift engineer.
• To monitor process parameters trends on daily basis and reporting the abnormalities and taking the corrective action as per the directive
• To check the quality parameters of final and intermediate products (Chips, oligomer, REG etc.) and taking corrective action in consultation with superior.
• To monitor the utilities parameters and report abnormalities to shift engineer.
• Reporting of any process safety incidents (PSV blowing, very high process temperature etc.) and taking corrective action as per the directive.
• Maintaining general housekeeping and hygiene of the Control room. Reporting issues related to control room environment like temperature, humidity etc.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience of CP panel operation in shift level in polyester industry (preferably Yokogawa DCS)
• Understand and work on Heat exchangers, Pumps, Distillation
• Excellent understanding of Safety requirements toward handling chemicals used in CP Process and
• Understand polymerization process and process trouble shooting
• Exposure to ISO quality and safety standards and procedural requirements
