Internal Auditor

Internal audit accountants work within an organization, focusing on internal controls and risk management. It involves conducting internal audits mainly to evaluate effectiveness of internal procedures and controls to identify potential risks, including fraud, and discrepancies in financial data.

Qualification - A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (B.Com or similar)

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP).
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Understanding of Indian accounting standards and tax laws.

Soft Skills:

• Attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Honesty and integrity.

Important Considerations:

Knowledge of Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and conducting internal audits:
• Checking expense transactions, including freight billing, cash advances, fuel costs, and maintenance expenses.
• Co-ordinating with operation teams to close discrepancies
• Analyze data to identify potential issues
• Preparing and reviewing the P&L for different business verticals
• Auditing the accuracy of financial reporting related to transportation operations.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls over financial transaction
• Reporting to management about audit findings
• Providing recommendations for process improvements.

General Assistance:

• Supporting senior accountants with various tasks.
• Assisting with external audit processes.
• Adhering to company financial policies and procedures.

Experience

• At least 5 years of work experience in accounting, auditing or related field.
• Experience in transport industry will be preferred
• Experience in internal auditing would be an added advantage
