About Role:
- Are you excited about learning world-leading best practices and making a strategic impact in a software/SaaS company? SGP is rapidly growing and is looking for a Portfolio Operations Associate/Senior Associate to lead the business strategy, go-to-market execution and financial planning of its portfolio companies.
- The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about managing challenging and strategic projects across multiple teams and locations.
- You'll be working closely with the C-suite executives of SGP's portfolio companies to craft the company's vision and its strategies, maintain and deliver detailed performance reports to its Board of Directors, and develop operating models and scenarios for driving strategic initiatives.
- You will also partner with cross-functional leaders at the portfolio companies to identify opportunities for growth and efficiencies, and support execution through program management efforts.
Role & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for strategic planning process, financial forecasting, long term trends, outlook and competitive intelligence
- Analyzing and supporting go-to-market execution strategies across direct sales, channel sales and marketing teams
- Manage initiatives that focus on new projects and process optimization; lead roadmap of enhancements to drive business continuity, reduce risk and enable new capabilities
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across portfolio companies to understand business needs and deliver holistic solutions to address them
- Support M&A strategies and drive inorganic expansion and integration efforts
- Develop business plans, forecasting models and scenario analyses; maintain and deliver detailed reports to the company executives to track performance
- Lead company's budgeting and long-term financial planning processes through all its stages: planning, review, approval, implementation & tracking of budgets, and cash-flow management
- Prepare executive level reporting, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews
- Prepare monthly/quarterly company presentations for Board of Directors ensuring all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective manner; identify opportunities for automation and system improvements
- Build and/or maintain operational dashboards and reporting suite to track, manage, and provide valuable insights on metrics and KPIs
Experience & Skills:
- 2+ years of post-MBA experience in either management consulting, investment banking, private equity portfolio operations, or strategy roles at high growth start-ups
- Experience of executing complex strategic and operational initiatives with solid business judgment
- Strong knowledge of business, financial and accounting concepts
- Experience translating data and trends into strategies to drive decision making with the executive leadership team
- Quick learner; willing to dive in and get her/his hands dirty; deliver results in fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct detailed go-to-market and financial analyses, and make strategic recommendations
- Strong experience in building complex excel-based models
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- MBA from an accredited college or university
- Experience in software/SaaS and related technology industries
