Senior Hardware Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design and Development:
• Design hardware solutions for automotive microcontroller-based systems, including switch control units and touch-based switch modules.
• Develop circuit schematics and PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards.
• HMI Development:
• Design and integrate touch-type switch units and human-machine interfaces (HMI) with vehicle systems.
• Collaborate with software teams to ensure seamless functionality of HMIs and switches.
• Testing and Validation:
• Conduct functional and environmental testing of hardware components to meet automotive quality standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
• Analyze and debug hardware issues, proposing effective solutions.
• Collaboration and Documentation:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software engineers, to ensure system-level integration.
• Generate and maintain detailed design documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in hardware design for automotive systems, including MCU-based designs.
• Proven track record of designing switch control units and touch-type switch units for vehicles.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in using design tools like Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar software for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Deep understanding of analog, digital, and power electronics relevant to automotive systems.
• Good to have knowledge on automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C).
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO 26262 and AEC-Q100/Q200.
• Experience with thermal, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) considerations in automotive hardware design.
• Background in designing user-friendly HMIs with a focus on aesthetics and functionality.
