Application Administrator

1. Production Support Management:
• Act as a primary point of contact for all production-related issues.
• Ensure the stable operation of IT systems (applications, databases, and infrastructure) that support business operations.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Work in a high-pressure environment to manage and resolve incidents affecting production services.

2. Incident Management:

• Monitor production applications for incidents and issues, analyzing the problems and providing timely solutions.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) to identify recurring issues and ensure long-term resolutions.
• Maintain and update incident logs, ensuring that issues are resolved within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

3. System Monitoring and Performance Tuning:

• Continuously monitor system performance using various monitoring tools to ensure that production systems meet performance expectations.
• Proactively address performance bottlenecks and optimize system efficiency.
• Implement fixes and enhancements to improve overall system reliability.

4. Change Management:

• Participate in the change management process by ensuring production system changes are planned, tested, and implemented smoothly.
• Collaborate with development, testing, and infrastructure teams to deploy new releases or patches.
• Ensure that any changes to production systems follow the defined Change Management process and do not disrupt business operations.

5. Backup and Recovery:

• Ensure proper backup and disaster recovery mechanisms are in place and working effectively.
• Test and validate backup and recovery processes regularly to ensure data integrity and availability.

6. Client and Vendor Coordination

• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve critical incidents and production issues.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding the status of incidents, changes, and any system-related issues.

7. SLA Management and Reporting:

• Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for incident resolution and system uptime.
• Provide regular reports on system performance, incident resolution times, and SLA compliance.

8. Documentation and Knowledge Management:

• Maintain and update documentation related to production systems, troubleshooting steps, and operational processes.
• Develop and update knowledge base articles and internal guidelines to facilitate better support and faster issue resolution.

9. Security Compliance:

• Work with the security team to ensure that production systems comply with internal and external security requirements.
• Monitor for security vulnerabilities and collaborate with relevant teams to patch or mitigate risks.

10. On-call Support:

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide after-hours support for production systems.
• Respond to urgent issues that arise outside of regular working hours.

Skills Required:

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of operating systems (Linux/Unix, Windows) and databases (SQL, Oracle, etc.)
• Proficient in system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Splunk, or similar tools).
• Experience in scripting (Shell, Python, etc.) for automation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with financial applications (such as mutual fund transaction systems, trading platforms) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of web servers, application servers, and middleware technologies (IIS, Apache, Tomcat, Nginx) .

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certifications: ITIL Foundation or similar certifications in IT service management.
• Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of financial services, particularly mutual fund operations, asset management, or banking systems.
• Technologies: Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices is a plus.
