Job Title : EDI Developer (3-4+ Years Experience)

Position Summary :

We are seeking a strong EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Developer with at least 3-4 years of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining EDI transactions, integrations, and related systems to support our organization's data exchange with external partners and internal business applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams-such as logistics, supply chain, -to ensure seamless, secure, and timely data transmission.

Key Responsibilities :

EDI Development & Maintenance :

- Design, develop, and implement EDI transactions, maps, and workflows (e.g., X12, EDIFACT, XML)

- Maintain and troubleshoot existing EDI integrations to ensure optimal performance and reliability

- Work with EDI translators and mapping tools (e.g., IBM Sterling Integrator, GXS, or similar)

Technical Support & Troubleshooting :

- Monitor EDI transactions, resolve data or mapping issues, and perform root-cause analysis

- Provide ongoing support for existing EDI solutions, including system upgrades and patches

Stakeholder Collaboration :

- Collaborate with internal teams (IT, supply chain, finance, etc.) and external trading partners to understand requirements and develop EDI solutions

- Translate business requirements into technical specifications to ensure accurate data exchange

Process Improvement :

- Identify opportunities to optimize EDI processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce errors

- Implement best practices to maintain data integrity, security, and compliance

Documentation & Standards :

- Document EDI processes, including mappings, business rules, and integration architecture

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and data exchange protocols

Qualifications :

Education & Experience : 3-4+ years of hands-on EDI development experience, specifically with EDI mapping, translation, and integration

Technical Skills :

- EDI Standards : Deep knowledge of X12, EDIFACT, and related standards (e.g., 810, 850, 856, 940, 945 transactions)

- Integration Tools : Proficiency with EDI translators and integration platforms (e.g., IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, GXS, Seeburger, or similar)

- Programming/Scripting : Familiarity with common programming languages (e.g., Java, .NET, or scripting languages) for automation and customization

- Database & Network : Understanding of SQL queries and relational databases; basic networking knowledge to troubleshoot connectivity

Soft Skills :

- Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders

- Problem-Solving : Ability to troubleshoot complex EDI issues under tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities

- Attention to Detail : Keen eye for accuracy when dealing with data transformation and mapping

- Teamwork : Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and independently as needed

Preferred Experience/Certifications :

- Experience with API-based data exchanges or modern integration frameworks

- Knowledge of cloud-based EDI solutions or iPaaS platforms

- Familiarity with ERP systems and how they interface with EDI solutions
