Job Description

TES6 - Firmware, Test Principal Technical expert

Ensures delivery of the highest quality solutions for Schneider Electric Power products by planning, facilitation, execution & reporting of test campaigns and test automation.

Test Expert responsible for Firmware Testing, test automation Techniques & tools. Lead and mentor verification engineers and support team establish internal procedures and best practices for work and deliverables.

Responsibilities:

Analyze product requirements and derive test plans based on those requirements.
Develop verification strategies and verification architectures.
Create and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures for firmware testing.
Identify and prioritize testing efforts based on key features and use cases.
Ensure thorough testing of all aspects of the product.
Drive automation strategy and ensure effective automation.
Develop and maintain test automation scripts and tools.
Contribute ideas and feedback during user requirements and specification reviews.
Conduct reviews of test plans and automation scripts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development and product management.
Analyze and report test results to stakeholders.
Identify and track defects, working with development teams to resolve them.
Stay up to date with industry-standard software testing and development methodologies and practices.
Execute cybersecurity pre-penetration testing features and coordinate with the pentest team.

Skill sets:

Bachelor s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience in testing both manual and automated products and systems, including hardware, firmware, and software, within an R&D environment.
Working experience with low voltage, medium voltage, metering products, and protection systems.
Experience with test automation tools and lab equipment (scripting languages such as Python and automation tools like Selenium, NI TestStand).
Experienced in functional verification of devices using various communication protocols, including Modbus, CAN, and IEC61850 or relevant Protocols.
Expertise include HIL Testing, MIL Testing and SIL Testing
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) process.
Experience in Agile methodologies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
Expertise in using packet analyzers like Wireshark and serial port sniffers, with the capability to analyze and decode frames.
