Principal Officer - GIFT City
About the Role:
We seek a seasoned Principal Officer to lead our GIFT City operations and ensure robust governance, regulatory adherence, and operational excellence. This role is pivotal in driving our IFSC initiatives, managing investor relations, firm's investment decisions and overseeing fund management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance & Governance:
- Act as the primary liaison with IFSCA, SEZ, and other regulatory bodies, ensuring timely submissions, audits, and compliance with IFSC regulations.
- Monitor evolving regulatory frameworks, assess risks, and implement proactive solutions.
- Serve as part of the Investment Committee, ensuring governance structures align with global standards.
2. Research & Strategic Insights:
- Inbound Investments: Assess, evaluate, and execute capital inflows, ensuring alignment with the fund's strategic goals.
- Outbound Investments: Identify, structure, and manage capital deployment in various asset classes.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify investment trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, including financial modeling, risk assessment, and valuation analysis. Develop proprietary models/dashboards to optimize portfolio performance and support investment decisions.
3. Investor Relations & Business Growth:
- Build and nurture relationships with investors.
- Lead client onboarding, address investor queries, and provide updates on fund performance and strategies.
- Support the launch of new products (e.g., AIFs) and drive investor engagement initiatives.
4. Operational Oversight:
- Oversee daily operations of the GIFT City entity, including fund administration, NAV computation, and transaction execution.
- Develop and implement processes/systems for seamless workflows across trading, compliance, and investor servicing.
- Coordinate with custodians, fund administrators, and trustees to ensure accuracy in trade settlements and reporting.
- Prepare detailed reports, investment memos, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Represent the company in board meetings, audit committees, and external forums.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, compliance) to align operations with strategic goals.
Requirements:
Education:
- Professional certification (CA/CFA/CS) or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or MBA.
- Graduates with finance certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in fund management, compliance, operations, or portfolio management within financial services (IFSC/SEBI-regulated entities preferred).
- Proven track record in regulatory liaison, investor relations, and transaction execution.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Indian and global financial markets, including equities, fixed income, and alternatives.
- Expertise in financial modelling, compliance frameworks (IFSCA/SEBI), and fund administration.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
Location & Criteria:
- Must be based in GIFT City and meet IFSCA's "Fit and Proper" criteria.
