You may order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, or imaging studies to make accurate diagnoses.Diagnosis and Treatment : You diagnose and treat various GI conditions, including but not limited to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver diseases, gallbladder disorders, and pancreatic diseases. You develop personalized treatment plans that may include medication, lifestyle modifications, dietary recommendations, or surgical interventions.Endoscopic Procedures : As a specialist, you are skilled in performing endoscopic procedures such as upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and other advanced endoscopic procedures. You use these procedures to visualize and diagnose GI conditions and to perform therapeutic interventions when needed.Follow-up Care and Monitoring : You provide ongoing care and monitoring to patients, ensuring that treatment plans are effective and adjusted as needed. You may perform regular check-ups, evaluate treatment outcomes, and address any complications or side effects.
