Job Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Safety Officer to join our team for a Greenfield Automotive Project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in implementing safety procedures and practices for large-scale automotive industry projects. This role requires expertise in safety compliance, risk management, and hazard mitigation on construction sites, with a focus on ensuring the well-being of all personnel and the protection of property throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety Compliance:
   
• Ensure that all activities on the greenfield project site comply with local, national, and international safety regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, etc.).
• Develop, review, and implement safety policies and procedures specific to the automotive greenfield project.
• Monitor and enforce the correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures.
2. Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification:
   
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of the site to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Work with the project team to develop and implement hazard control measures for all phases of construction and installation.
• Proactively assess and address safety concerns related to site equipment, machinery, and automotive manufacturing processes.
3. Safety Training & Awareness:
   
• Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to ensure all site personnel are aware of safety practices, emergency protocols, and best practices for mitigating risks.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety briefings and toolbox talks to educate workers about specific risks related to the site or the automotive manufacturing process.
• Keep accurate records of safety training and certifications for all site personnel.
4. Accident & Incident Management:
   
• Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and unsafe work practices. Ensure timely reporting and documentation of incidents in line with company policies.
• Develop corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid recurrence of incidents and improve safety performance.
• Report any safety violations or incidents to management and regulatory bodies as required.
5. Emergency Preparedness:
   
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid, fire safety, and other potential crisis scenarios.
• Ensure that all personnel are trained on emergency response protocols and conduct regular emergency drills.
6. Collaboration & Communication:
   
• Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related issues between project management, contractors, subcontractors, and the workforce.
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement by encouraging open communication, reporting of hazards, and employee involvement in safety programs.
• Provide regular reports on safety performance, audits, inspections, and incidents to senior management.
7. Documentation & Reporting:
   
• Maintain comprehensive records of safety activities, including inspections, safety audits, incident reports, and corrective actions taken.
• Track and report on the safety KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for the greenfield project to measure safety performance.
8. Continuous Improvement:
   
• Stay up-to-date with the latest safety regulations, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve the safety standards of the project.
• Suggest and implement improvements to enhance safety protocols, reduce risk, and improve overall project outcomes.
