Job Overview:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the technology strategy and execution for our solar energy and cell manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for driving innovation, managing research and development (R&D), overseeing manufacturing processes, and ensuring the implementation of cutting-edge technologies to enhance the company's product offerings. The CTO will collaborate with the leadership team to align technology initiatives with the overall business goals, focusing on increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and driving sustainable, clean energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technology Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement the company's technology vision and strategy in alignment with the business goals.
- Lead R&D efforts to improve solar cell efficiency, develop new technologies, and enhance product offerings.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage in the solar energy and cell manufacturing sectors.
- Provide technical leadership and direction across multiple teams, including engineering, production, and research.
2. Research & Development (R&D):
- Oversee development and testing of new solar cell designs, ensuring high efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Foster collaboration with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry experts to drive innovation.
3. Manufacturing Process Optimization:
- Oversee the development and implementation of advanced manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure the integration of automation and smart technologies to streamline production and improve product quality.
- Lead efforts to reduce waste, energy consumption, and environmental impact in manufacturing processes.
4. Product Development:
- Manage the lifecycle of solar cells, modules, and related products from concept through production.
- Ensure products meet or exceed industry standards for quality, performance, and sustainability.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development of new product lines that address emerging market needs.
5. Team Development & Leadership:
- Build and mentor a high-performing technology and engineering team.
- Create a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture that encourages continuous learning and improvement.
- Set performance goals, provide feedback, and manage team development to ensure excellence.
6. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with the CEO and other executives to align technology strategies with business objectives.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure the technology vision is represented in the company's offerings.
- Engage with external partners, vendors, and customers to ensure alignment on technology and product requirements.
7. Regulatory & Compliance:
- Ensure all technological developments comply with national and international regulatory standards, including safety and environmental regulations.
- Keep abreast of changes in technology regulations and standards within the solar energy and manufacturing industry.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A Master's or Ph.D. is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a technology leadership role, with a strong background in solar energy, photovoltaic (PV) cell manufacturing, or renewable energy technologies.
- Proven experience leading large-scale R&D initiatives and managing complex manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience in solar cell design, manufacturing techniques, and materials science.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with executive leadership.
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of solar technologies, including thin-film, monocrystalline, polycrystalline, and emerging solar cell technologies.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor processes, materials science, and PV cell manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies such as automation, robotics, machine learning, and IoT in a manufacturing environment.

- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technology strategies with business objectives and anticipate future industry trends.
- Innovation: Demonstrated ability to lead breakthrough innovations and create cutting-edge technologies in the solar manufacturing space.

- Project Management: Experience managing complex projects with tight timelines, budgets, and multiple stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with green energy technologies and sustainability initiatives.
- Knowledge of global solar markets and regulatory environments.
- Experience in scaling up production processes from pilot projects to mass production
