Software Tester - Manual/Automation Testing (6-8 yrs)

Position Overview :

We are seeking a results-driven Software Tester to design and execute tests that ensure optimal software usability, functionality, and performance.

The Software Tester will perform various testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and stress testing, to identify bugs and recommend improvements.

You will collaborate closely with development teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure software solutions meet user requirements and exceed quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Test Planning and Design :

- Analyze software requirements and technical specifications to create comprehensive test plans and test cases.

- Identify test objectives, scope, constraints, and deliverables based on project requirements.

- Develop test scripts for manual and automated testing.

- Establish testing environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations, as required.

Test Execution and Reporting :

- Conduct functional, non-functional, performance, stress, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

- Execute manual and automated tests to ensure software quality across various platforms and devices.

- Track, log, and prioritize defects in a bug-tracking system (e., JIRA, Bugzilla).

- Collaborate with developers to debug issues and validate fixes.

- Prepare detailed test reports, including defect metrics, testing progress, and overall software quality status.

Continuous Improvement :

- Evaluate and implement testing tools, frameworks, and best practices to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.

- Identify areas for process optimization and provide recommendations to improve testing workflows.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and trends in software quality assurance.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in manual and automated testing tools (e., Selenium, TestNG, Appium, JUnit, Postman).

- Strong knowledge of test management tools (e., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).

- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.

- Familiarity with scripting languages for test automation (e., Python, Java, JavaScript).

- Understanding of SQL for database testing.

- Knowledge of performance testing tools (e., JMeter, LoadRunner).

Core Competencies :

- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

- Expertise in various testing techniques, including black-box, white-box, and grey-box testing.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose software issues.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify edge cases and complex bugs.

Soft Skills :

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 6+ years of professional experience in software testing or quality assurance.

- Certification in software testing (e., ISTQB, CSTE) is a strong plus.

- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab.
