About the company- Saan Global Limited is a professionally managed, multi-product organization in India representing several large and renowned MNCs in the field of specialty and bulk chemicals catering to Polyurethane, Thermo Plastic Polyurethane, Oil & Gas, Refineries, Steel, Wire, Cable, Polymer, Printing Ink etc.


The Impact You'll Make in this Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager of Operations to oversee the day-to-day operational functions while also driving business growth by identifying new customers and introducing our company's offerings to potential clients. This pivotal role combines operational leadership with business development, and the ideal candidate will be skilled in executive assistance, safety management, IT systems, driver coordination, travel desk operations, project management, procurement, sales, customer relationship building, and managing cross-functional teams.


The General Manager Operations will be responsible for managing multiple internal functions, including safety, IT, administration, data analysis, asset management, and internal housekeeping, while also playing a key role in customer acquisition and representing the company to potential clients. You will be expected to ensure operational efficiency and simultaneously work to expand the business by identifying new markets and opportunities.


Role & responsibilities


1. Executive Assistance:

  • Provide high-level executive support to senior management, including scheduling, communication, and preparation of reports or presentations.
  • Manage and prioritize executive tasks, calendars, and meetings to ensure smooth operations.

2. Safety Management:

  • Oversee the development and enforcement of safety policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory safety standards.
  • Lead safety audits and identify areas for improvement.

3. IT Operations:

  • Coordinate with IT teams to ensure efficient operation and management of all IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
  • Manage IT-related issues, troubleshooting, and liaise with third-party vendors for software or hardware needs.
  • Implement digital solutions and technologies to improve operational efficiency.

4. Driver Coordination:

  • Oversee the coordination of drivers and transportation logistics for the company's fleet.
  • Ensure safe and efficient delivery of goods and services, manage driver schedules, and monitor vehicle maintenance.
  • Develop and implement driver safety training programs.

5. Travel Desk Operations:

  • Supervise and manage the travel desk team to organize travel bookings (flights, hotels, transportation) for employees and management.
  • Negotiate with travel agencies, vendors, and service providers for optimal pricing and services.

6. Project Management:

  • Lead and manage key company projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Monitor project progress, report on milestones, and address any issues or obstacles.

7. PPT Content Creation:

  • Oversee the creation and design of PowerPoint presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams to create compelling presentations for meetings, pitches, or client discussions.

8. Admin Team Management:

  • Lead and manage the administration team, ensuring high levels of productivity, accuracy, and service.
  • Supervise daily office operations, including office supplies, mail, record-keeping, and documentation.

9. Procurement & Purchasing:

  • Oversee procurement processes for office supplies, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

10. Data Analysis:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to provide actionable insights for improving efficiency and performance.
  • Prepare regular reports on key operational metrics to share with senior leadership.

11. Sales Officers Coordination:

  • Manage and support the sales team to ensure operational alignment with sales goals.
  • Coordinate between sales officers and other departments to streamline workflows and enhance sales productivity.
  • Monitor sales performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency and outcomes.

12. Email & Database Management:

  • Oversee and manage company-wide email communications and ensure timely responses to client and internal inquiries.
  • Maintain and update the company's databases, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance.

13. Asset Recording & Management:

  • Develop and implement processes for recording and tracking company assets.
  • Oversee inventory control, ensuring that company assets are well-maintained and accounted for.

14. Tender Management:

  • Manage the tendering process for procurement and contracts, including preparing, reviewing, and submitting bids.
  • Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with tender requirements.

15. Internal Housekeeping Management:

  • Supervise the internal housekeeping team to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of office facilities.
  • Implement standards and procedures for housekeeping to maintain a professional and hygienic work environment.

16. Customer Acquisition & Business Development:

  • Identify and Find New Customers: Actively seek out new business opportunities, identify potential clients, and build a strong customer acquisition strategy to expand the companys client base.
  • Introduce the Company: Represent the company to prospective customers by introducing its services/products and building a strong value proposition to generate interest.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to foster long-term business growth.
  • Lead Generation: Develop strategies for lead generation through networking, industry events, cold outreach, and other business development efforts.
  • Sales Collaboration: Collaborate with the sales team to tailor pitches and presentations that align with client needs and company offerings.

Preferred candidate profile


Education:


Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.


Experience:


  • 10+ years of experience in operations management, business development, or a similar role, with a proven track record of overseeing multiple functions and driving business growth.
  • Strong experience in customer acquisition, sales, and business development.
  • Proven background in managing administrative, safety, procurement, IT, and operational functions.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and delivering on operational and business objectives.
  • Ideally has experience from within the chemical industry or a related one.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong business acumen and ability to develop and execute strategies for customer acquisition and business development.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with experience in managing diverse teams.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
  • Analytical mind-set with strong skills in data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, IT systems, procurement processes, and asset management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to prepare reports and presentations.
  • Negotiation skills with the ability to engage and close clients or contracts.
