Software Engineer -QA

Role & responsibilities

Manual Testing:

• Design and execute test cases for functional, integration, and regression testing of web and mobile applications.
• Identify, log, and track defects through the entire testing lifecycle.
• Perform exploratory testing and ad-hoc testing to uncover potential issues.
• Review and analyse system specifications to create comprehensive test plans.
• Develop and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and provide feedback on design specifications.
• Perform root cause analysis and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and other agile ceremonies.

Automation Testing:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Work with automation tools like Selenium, Appium, BDD, and TestNG frameworks
• Integrate automated tests into continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Analyze test results and report issues with proper logs and descriptions.
• Assist in setting up automated test environments and ensuring they are properly maintained.
• Improve and optimize existing automated testing frameworks to ensure the efficiency of the testing process.
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure automation coverage for critical features.

Preferred candidate profile

Essential:

• Bachelor's Degree / Engineering / Master's Degree
• Languages: Strong knowledge of Java
• Proven experience of 3-5 years as a Software Testing Engineer with manual and automation testing.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and test life cycle.
• Experience with test management tools like Jira, TestRail, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, BDD, and TestNG frameworks
• JMeter for performance testing
• API Testing
• Proficient in writing and executing SQL queries for database testing.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Desirable:

• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, and GitLab.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS).
• Familiarity with mobile testing (iOS/Android) using Appium or other related frameworks.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks.
• Certification in ISTQB or similar testing certification is a plus.
