Director Applied AI Solutions

Job Summary:

Rhythm Innovations (Rhythm) is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Applied AI to lead our efforts in leveraging artificial intelligence to solve real-world challenges in operational risk and compliance areas. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will oversee the development and deployment of AI solutions that align with our organizational goals, enhance customer experiences, and optimize operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

a. Develop and execute a scalable Applied AI roadmap that aligns with the Rhythms vision, ensuring AI capabilities become a competitive advantage.

b. Identify short- and long-term AI opportunities that address market needs and generate business value.

c. Establish KPIs to measure the impact and success of AI initiatives across customer business functions.

2. Hands-On Development:

a. Actively participate in the development, testing, reviews and deployment of machine learning models and AI-driven products.

b. Create proof-of-concept (PoC) models and prototypes to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of AI solutions in addressing business challenges.

c. Work with limited resources to innovate, iterate, and deliver impactful AI solutions in a fast-paced environment.

3. Team Building & Mentorship:

a. Recruit and develop a high-performing AI team, including data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers, to support the Rhythm\u2019s goals.

b. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages experimentation, creative problem-solving, and professional growth.

c. Mentor team members on best practices for AI/ML development and deployment.

4. Collaboration Across Functions:

a. Partner closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and sales teams to understand business challenges and translate them into AI-powered solutions.

b. Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback and refine AI solutions to better meet their needs.

5. AI Productization:

a. Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI-powered products, from concept to deployment and iteration, ensuring they meet technical and business requirements.

b. Drive the integration of AI technologies into core products and services, ensuring seamless user experiences.

c. Ensure AI solutions are designed to scale as the Rhythm grows, supporting future business expansion.

6. Technology and Infrastructure:

a. Select and implement tools, frameworks, and cloud platforms that optimize the AI development process while keeping costs in check.

b. Establish data pipelines and infrastructure to enable efficient collection, storage, and processing of large datasets.

c. Ensure robust model monitoring and maintenance practices to sustain the performance of deployed AI systems.

7. Innovation and Competitive Edge:

a. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and research in AI and assess their relevance to the Rhythm\u2019s goals.

b. Identify potential partnerships, tools, or collaborations that could accelerate AI adoption and innovation.

c. Drive intellectual property development by exploring novel AI methods and solutions that align with the Rhythms offerings.

8. Governance and Risk Management:

a. Set up ethical AI guidelines and ensure AI systems are transparent, explainable, and free from bias.

b. Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA,SOC2).

c. Mitigate risks associated with AI adoption, such as model drift, technical debt, and scalability challenges.

9. Customer Engagement and Value Delivery:

a. Collaborate with clients or customers to co-create tailored AI solutions that address their unique pain points.

b. Present technical concepts and project outcomes to investors, customers, and other stakeholders to demonstrate the value of the Rhythm\u2019s AI initiatives.

c. Act as an AI evangelist, showcasing the company\u2019s expertise in applied AI to attract new customers, partners, and investors.

10. Iterative and Agile Mindset:

a. Adapt rapidly to changing business needs and industry conditions by iterating on strategies and solutions.

b. Leverage Rhythm agility to quickly test hypotheses, gather feedback, and improve AI systems in a cost-effective manner.
