Job Description
- DBA will be responsible for Managing and maintaining the Aurora, MySQL, Postgress, SQL and MS SQL databases hosted on AWS Cloud environment in line with the industry best practices.
- Must have skills: Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration, Azure SQL Database.
- Good to have skills: Experience in supporting other database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Cosmos DB, MariaDB, Azure PaaS DB, Amazon RDS, Redshift etc. Knowledge on Azure/AWS cloud technology.
- Job requirements: Key Responsibilities (This field is Mandatory)
- Manage multiple SQL DB versions
- Installing, patching, and configuring Aurora, MySQL, Postgress, SQL and MS SQL databases Server Instances
- Monitor Database server health and performance using native monitoring tools. Generate the Database performance reports
- Perform databases backup and restore as per client s agreed RPO/RTO.
- In depth knowledge and Hands on experience on High Availability concepts (Log Shipping, Mirroring, Always-ON) and DR activities
- Experience in User administration activities, enabling security parameters like TDE, SSL/TLS encryption
- Troubleshoot DB related issues reported by Application team
- Providing DBA support during Application and OS planned maintenance activities
- Assessing Database related Vulnerabilities and remediate it.
- Trend analysis and implement continuous improvements
- Focus on Automating DBA regular tasks.
- Strong understanding on AWS SQL PaaS and IaaS
- Experience on AWS SQL PaaS DB administration
- Experience in supporting and managing multiple RDBMS
- Technical Experience (This field is Mandatory)
- Managing multiple versions of SQL server databases -2014, 2016,2017 & 2019
- Proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting the DB issues
- Experience in HA and DR set up and troubleshooting
- Experience in Installing, Patching, and upgrading SQL server Instances
- SQL Server Backup configuration and Restore the DB as per business requirement. Knowledge on third party backup tools like Commvault, TDP etc
- Knowledge on ITIL process
- Knowledge and work experience on other RDBMS like Mysql, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Cosmos DB, MariaDB, Amazon RDS, Redshift etc
- Professional Attributes (This field is Mandatory)
- Willing to work in 24x7 Shift model.
- Ability to organize and plan work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work, and multitask
- Good communication skills to communicate with support personnel, customers, and managers
