Graphic Designer - Printing and Packaging Industry

Job Description:

As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for creating and modifying designs to meet customer specifications and ensuring the print-ready files are prepared accurately. You will collaborate closely with clients, plate makers, die makers, and digital print houses to ensure timely and precise production of printed materials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Die Key Lines Creation:

- Design 1-up die key lines for product development using AutoCAD and prepare dummies for review.

2. Customer Design Creation:

- Create and modify designs as per customer requirements using CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator.

3. Design Modification and Approval:

- Make necessary changes to customer-supplied designs and obtain approval, ensuring all revisions are completed until final approval.

4. Multi-Ups Die Key Lines:

- Develop multi-ups die key lines and coordinate with die makers for die preparation.

5. Artwork Fitment:

- Fit artwork into die key lines, adding cut marks, bleed, and pin side to create print-ready files.

6. Print File Coordination:

- Email finalized print files to plate makers and ensure timely delivery.

7. Vendor Coordination:

- Inspect dies and plates upon receipt from vendors to ensure accuracy.

8. Print Proof Verification:

- Check the first print proof against the design to ensure consistency.

9. Digital Print Support:

- Provide digital printouts of new jobs to the printing section and ensure alignment with the final plates.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Commercial Arts or a Related field.

- Proficiency in CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and AutoCAD.

- Strong knowledge of die key line generation and design fitment.

- Experience in preparing print files with appropriate markings (bleed, registration, cut marks).

- Ability to make precise design modifications based on customer feedback.

- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with customers and vendors.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Prior experience in the printing and packaging industry is preferred.

Experience:

- 5 years of experience in graphic design, preferably in the printing and packaging industry.
