Buying & Merchandising Lead - Luxury Home Brand

Key Responsibilities:

Category Management:

- Develop and execute comprehensive buying and merchandising strategies for the Home category, including furniture, decor, textiles, and other home goods.

- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive analysis, and customer preferences.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, and sales, to ensure cohesive product offerings.

Supplier Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and exclusivity agreements.

- Source and onboard new suppliers to expand product offerings and ensure a diverse and high-quality assortment.

- Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality standards, delivery timelines, and contractual obligations.

Product Development:

- Lead the product development process from concept to launch, including design, sampling, and production.

- Ensure that products meet quality, pricing, and margin targets. o Work closely with design and production teams to ensure alignment with brand vision and customer expectations.

Inventory Management:

- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and minimize stockouts.

- Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions on product replenishment and discontinuation.

- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure efficient inventory flow and storage.

Financial Management:

- Develop and manage category budgets, sales forecasts, and financial plans.

- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to ensure category profitability.

- Implement pricing strategies to maximize revenue and margin while remaining competitive in the market.

Team Leadership:

- Lead and mentor a team of buyers and merchandisers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture that drives innovation and results.

- Set clear goals and expectations for the team, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.

Experience Required:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in buying and merchandising within the home category.

- Proven track record of developing and executing successful buying and merchandising strategies.

- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with vendors and suppliers.

- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
