QA Automation Engineer

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to build and optimize automation frameworks, drive automation adoption, and enhance testing strategies. Youll play a key role in automating test scenarios, mentoring teams, conducting PoCs, and solving automation challenges.

This role requires a strong product and mobile app testing mindset, with deep automation expertise to ensure scalable, efficient, and high-quality test execution. While automation is the primary focus, you should also be comfortable with manual testing when needed.

You’ll collaborate with development, product, and DevOps teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, ensuring seamless and reliable software releases.

Key Responsibilities :

Automation Framework Development & Optimization

• Design, develop, and implement automation frameworks from scratch for mobile applications.
• Evaluate existing test automation frameworks across different projects, identify gaps, and improve architecture, scalability, and performance.
• Standardize best practices and reusable automation components to enhance efficiency.
• Develop test scripts for UI, API, and backend automation using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, or similar.
• Ensure automation solutions integrate seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket, etc.) for continuous testing.
• Write and execute automated test scripts to validate features, bug fixes, and regression scenarios.

Testing Strategy & Implementation :

• Perform end-to-end automation testing, including functional, regression, smoke, and sanity testing.
• Automate mobile app (iOS & Android) test scenarios using Appium or similar tools.
• Develop API automation scripts using Postman, RestAssured, or Karate to validate backend functionality.
• Implement data-driven, keyword-driven, and hybrid testing frameworks for scalable automation solutions.
• Design and execute cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure application stability across multiple environments.

Mentorship & Upskilling the Team:

• Coach and mentor QA teams on best practices in automation, helping them upskill in test automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to empower manual testers to transition into automation roles.
• Promote a test automation mindset across the development and QA teams by advocating for automation-first approaches.

Proof of Concepts (PoCs) & Problem-Solving:

• Conduct PoCs for new automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies to determine feasibility and effectiveness.
• Solve complex automation challenges related to test data management, execution time optimization, and flaky test handling.
• Evaluate AI-driven test automation solutions and explore new trends in self-healing automation.
• Experiment with headless browser testing and cloud-based automation using platforms like BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or LambdaTest.

Manual Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Perform exploratory and manual testing as needed for critical releases and edge-case scenarios.
• Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA, TestRail, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams in agile sprints, ensuring early defect detection and resolution.

Required Skills & Experience :

✅ Automation Framework Expertise – Experience in building and optimizing automation frameworks from scratch.
✅ Programming Knowledge – Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C# for scripting and automation.
✅ Test Automation Tools – Strong hands-on experience with Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, JUnit, Postman, and RestAssured.
✅ CI/CD Integration – Expertise in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines for test automation in CI/CD workflows.
✅ Mobile App Testing – Experience testing native and hybrid mobile apps with real devices and emulators.
✅ Mentorship & Leadership – Ability to guide, train, and mentor teams in automation testing.
✅ PoC & Problem-Solving – Experience in evaluating new automation technologies and conducting proof-of-concepts (PoCs).
✅ Agile & DevOps – Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with an understanding of DevOps culture.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Knowledge of performance and load testing tools like JMeter or Gatling.
• Experience in security testing or penetration testing practices.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based testing (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).
• Familiarity with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow).
