Role & responsibilities
1. Credit Evaluation: Assess the creditworthiness of loan applicants by analyzing their financial statements, credit history, and collateral.
2. Risk Management: Implement and maintain effective credit risk management policies and procedures to minimize non-performing assets (NPAs) within the region.
3. Underwriting: Oversee the underwriting process, including setting appropriate terms and conditions for loans and making informed lending decisions.
4. Portfolio Management: Maintain a balanced loan portfolio, monitor delinquencies, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risk.
5. Compliance: Ensure that all lending activities adhere to local and national regulatory requirements, including documentation, reporting, and legal compliance.
6. Team Management: Lead a team of credit analysts and underwriters, providing guidance and training to ensure consistent and high-quality credit assessments.
7. Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with local business partners, borrowers, and relevant stakeholders.
8. Credit Policy Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit policies, taking into account market trends and industry best practices.
9. Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly review and report on the performance of the credit portfolio within the region, identifying potential areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
Preferred candidate profile
-Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) may be preferred.
- Several years of experience in credit risk assessment and management within the financial services sector.
- In-depth knowledge of local and national financial regulations and guidelines.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in financial analysis software and tools.
