PMO Specialist/ Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PMO Specialist/Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive enterprise PMO experience, a deep understanding of project management methodologies, and expertise with industry-standard tools like Jira, Confluence, and other project and portfolio management solutions. This role will be instrumental in driving project governance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and supporting the successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

Role & responsibilities

• PMO Governance and Frameworks:
• Develop, implement, and maintain PMO governance standards, policies, and methodologies for enterprise-level projects.
• Ensure project portfolios align with organizational goals and deliver value.
• Project Portfolio Management:
• Manage and prioritize the project portfolio based on business objectives and resource capacity.
• Monitor and report on the status, risks, and performance of active projects.
• Tooling and Process Optimization:
• Administer and optimize project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet, and other PMO tools.
• Standardize and streamline project management processes across teams and departments.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Act as a liaison between project teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership to ensure clear communication and alignment.
• Facilitate regular portfolio reviews and executive reporting.
• Risk and Change Management:
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project and portfolio risks.
• Manage change control processes to minimize project disruptions.
• Training and Support:
• Provide training, mentoring, and support to project managers and team members on PMO processes and tools.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO function.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications and Experience:

• Educational Background:
• Bachelors degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field (Masters preferred).
• PMP, PRINCE2, or PgMP certification is highly desirable.
• Experience:
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in enterprise PMO roles, managing large-scale projects and portfolios.
• Proven experience implementing and managing PMO tools and software, such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies.
• Expertise in reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices is an advantage.
