Overview :
- We are seeking a talented Senior Data Analyst to join our team.
- This role is ideal for professionals with 6-8 years of experience in data analysis, including at least 1+ years in a leadership capacity.
- As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in transforming complex data into actionable insights, supporting decision-making, and driving continuous improvement in analytical processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights, using advanced Excel functions, pivot tables, and SQL.
- Develop and maintain data models, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with business requirements.
- Understand complex data relationships and translate them into understandable data models that can drive business strategies.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data models meet the needs of various business units, including finance, operations, and marketing.
- Lead small teams of data analysts, providing guidance and ensuring the team meets analytical goals.
- Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product teams, and other departments to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies, ensuring that analytics-related tasks are appropriately prioritized and executed.
- Actively engage in cross-functional collaboration, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making and support key initiatives.
- Prior experience with utility tariffs, rates, and programs will be an added advantage, as the role may involve analyzing rate structures, tariffs, and the impact of different utility programs on pricing models.
- Validate and test all changes to data models using regression analysis and calibration processes, identifying issues and resolving them as necessary.
- Investigate calibration failures and work with relevant stakeholders to find solutions and prevent recurrence.
- Ensure all model updates are properly documented and comply with audit and change management requirements.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the rate engine, modeling processes, and sprint planning.
- Continuously assess and improve modeling workflows to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with evolving business needs.
- Stay updated on best practices in data analytics and modeling, incorporating relevant changes to optimize operations.
- Maintain documentation on modeling requirements for clients, ensuring that models are understandable, reproducible, and transparent.
- Create and manage detailed reports to track model performance, findings, and improvements.
- Provide clear communication of insights and results to stakeholders, ensuring data findings are easy to interpret and actionable
Skills & Qualifications :
- 6-8 years of overall experience in data analysis with at least 1+ years in a leadership role, managing teams or projects.
- Strong experience in building data models, performing statistical analysis, and interpreting data to inform business decisions.
Technical Skills :
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
- Strong SQL skills to query relational databases, analyze data, and produce insights.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Understanding of data relationships and the ability to convert complex data into structured models that are easy to understand and use.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant analytical subject area (e.g, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science).
- Experience with utility tariffs, rates, and programs will be an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and logical reasoning.
- Demonstrable ability to innovate and find creative solutions to complex data-related challenges.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data insights clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams and align data analytics with business goals.
- Proven track record of managing and mentoring teams in an analytical context
