Lead Engineer Payments Java

Purpose of the Role

The Lead Engineer acts as the lead technical authority for implementation of largescale Greenfield Payment Solutions. The Lead Engineer will:

• Create engineering frameworks for implementation of
  • Distributed microservices based business services for Payment processing
  • State management of payment flows
  • Schema and protocol transformation methods
  • Error handling and roll back
  • Sync/Async processing
  • Containerized deployments with patterns like rolling upgrades, blue-green deployment, feature toggle etc
• Work closely with the solution Architect to ensure that the engineering frameworks are fit for purpose
• Work with engineers to build up their understanding of the framework, help them with implementations on the framework and identify potential areas of improvement for the framework
• Work with Devops and Quality engineers to codify all code quality, test automation, security controls in the pipelines
• Get assigned to complex user stories for hands on implementation

Essential Experience

Business

Good exposure to payments order management, payment execution and clearing and settlement functions. Should have been involved in prior engineering of payment systems for large financial institutions.

Should be conversant with ISO20022 standards

Should be aware of different payment types and differences in processing of these payment types

Technical

• 12+ years of strong experience on Java
• 5+ years of experience in various spring projects: Springboot, Spring Cache, Spring State Machine, Spring Cloud Stream, Spring Cloud
• 2+ years of experience in database performance optimization preferably on postgresql
• 2+ years of experience with messaging platform either Kafka or Solace
• 2+ years of experience building Event driven applications using industry standard patterns like DDD, Clean/Hexagonal architectures, CQRS, Transactional Outbox pattern etc
• 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes (preferably Openshift)
• 4+ years of experience working in a CI/CD environment
• At least 1-year experience testing using Mockito, Selenium, Cucumber
• Methods and delivery - DevOps processes and experience. Strong understanding of lean and agile methods of software delivery
