Job Summary
We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Sales & Business Development Manager to lead and expand our sales operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the FMCG and specialty food sectors, particularly dry fruits and nuts, with a proven ability to manage high-value accounts and drive new business initiatives. This role will focus on building and sustaining relationships with key clients, developing long-term sales strategies, and managing a high-performance sales team to meet and exceed revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with key clients in the B2B and high-end consumer markets, focusing on long-term partnerships.
    • Identify and evaluate high-value prospects, leveraging existing networks and industry knowledge to secure large-scale deals and strategic partnerships.
    • Conduct high-level negotiations and close deals that align with company growth objectives.
  2. Sales Strategy & Execution
    • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate new markets and expand existing product offerings.
    • Lead the sales process, from identifying opportunities to closing deals, while overseeing the performance of the sales team.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  3. Team Leadership & Performance Management
    • Manage and mentor a team of sales professionals, providing guidance and support to help them meet their individual targets.
    • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of the sales team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and growth plans.
    • Set clear KPIs and provide regular performance feedback to optimize team output.
  4. Collaboration with Marketing & Operations
    • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment between sales initiatives and marketing campaigns.
    • Provide input into product development and promotional strategies based on customer feedback and market demands.
    • Collaborate with operations to ensure seamless delivery and exceptional service to clients.
  5. Sales Forecasting, Reporting, and Data Analysis
    • Analyze sales and financial data to forecast trends, identify opportunities for growth, and assess team performance.
    • Provide regular sales reports and insights to senior management, using data to inform strategic decisions.
    • Ensure the effective use of CRM and data analysis tools to track client engagement, sales cycles, and conversion rates.
  6. Market Research & Competitive Analysis
    • Lead efforts to research emerging markets, industry trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for expansion.
    • Develop insights into customer needs and market dynamics to refine the company's product offerings and positioning.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in sales and business development in the FMCG industry, with a proven track record of success in specialty world food categories such as nuts and dry fruits.
  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the FMCG landscape, particularly in distribution channels, client acquisition, and consumer behavior within the specialty food industry.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.
    • Proficient in MS Office, CRM systems, and data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
    • Language Proficiency: English, Gujarati, and Hindi.
    • Ability to handle complex client relationships and lead high-value deals from initiation to closure.
    • Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
