Railofy - Junior Backend Engineer - Node.js/Express.js (1-3 yrs)

About Us :

We are a VC-funded startup solving one of the biggest transportation problems India faces. Most passengers in India travel long distance by IRCTC trains. At time of booking, approx 1 out of every 2 passengers end up with a Waitlisted or RAC ticket. This creates a lot of anxiety for passengers, as Railway only announces only 4 hour before departure if they have a confirmed seat. We solve this problem through our Confirm Guarantee product. We are also the largest and highest rated player in online food in trains. Railofy has been at the forefront of innovation with a mission to elevate the train travel experience in India. Our team consists of 3 Founders from IIT, IIM and ISB.

Functional Experience :

- Computer Science or IT Engineering background with solid understanding of basics of Data Structures and Algorithms

- 3+ years of web development and software design experience

- Experience working with increasing scale, and it is a big plus if you have worked with product-based companies

- Expertise in Javascript and well versed with ES6 standards

- Expertise in Node.js (Express.js) and understanding of server-side rendering

- Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL Database Technologies like MySQL/Postgres/MongoDB/Aerospike/Cassandra at least on one of these

- Experience working with caching technologies like Redis/Memcached and similar

- Experience with developing secured REST APIs

- Good understanding of Queuing technologies, and event driven architecture

- You love coding like a hobby and are up for a challenge!
