Senior Software Engineer/ Lead Engineer (4JS Genero)

About the Role

We are hiring experienced 4JS Genero Developers to work on product & application development projects. You will help support a large, established portfolio of healthcare, GovTech and ERP products. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications using the 4JS Genero platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teamsincluding Business Analysts, QA, and Project Managersto deliver robust, scalable, and high-performing business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Architecture:

Contribute to system architecture, data modeling, and design decisions in our 4JS Genero & Informix/4GL environments

Application Development:

Design, code, test, and maintain applications in the 4JS Genero environment.

Write and optimize 4GL programs, forms, and reports to meet business requirements.

Technical Leadership:

Provide guidance on best practices and technical standards for 4JS Genero development.

Assist in defining architecture and system design to ensure robust, maintainable solutions.

Collaboration & Coordination:

Work closely with Business Analysts to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.

Collaborate with QA teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects throughout the development lifecycle.

Coordinate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration.

You may need to travel to UK or Australia for customer meetings.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated with new features, tools, and best practices in the 4JS Genero ecosystem.

Propose and implement process improvements to enhance development efficiency and product quality.

Support & Maintenance:

Investigate and resolve production issues or performance bottlenecks.

Provide ongoing support and enhancements to existing Genero applications and interfaces.

Integration & Configuration

Develop and maintain integrations between 4JS Genero applications and other internal/external systems (e.g., financial systems, document management platforms).

Configure the Genero environment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

4JS Genero Expertise: Strong experience in 4JS Genero Business Development Language (BDL), Genero Studio, and/or Genero Report Writer.

Programming Languages: Proficiency in 4GL, SQL; familiarity with additional languages such as Java, C or C++ is a plus.

Database Knowledge: Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and SQL optimization.

Version Control: Experience using Git, SVN, or other version control systems.

Operating Systems: Comfortable working in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments.

Track record of delivering and supporting enterprise-level applications.

Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
