What s the RoleWe are looking for a Sr. Backend Developer (Node.js, MongoDB) to join our fast-growing tech logistics startup. You will contribute to shaping the future of logistics by leveraging deep industry insights and innovative technologies. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize backend systems that support cutting-edge logistics solutions across multiple geographies. Responsibilities/ Duties Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade backend applications using Node.js and MongoDB. Build efficient, reusable, and scalable server-side code. Define and optimize GraphQL schemas, queries, and mutations to ensure efficient data exchange. Design and optimize MongoDB schemas for large datasets. Implement data partitioning, sharding, and caching to handle high-volume traffic. Develop efficient data models and aggregation pipelines. Monitor database and server performance for maximum scalability. Identify and troubleshoot performance and security issues in the backend infrastructure. Work closely with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders. Mentor junior developers and perform code reviews to maintain high-quality standards. Analyse the work and create tasks & sub-tasks with time estimations. Ensure code coverage and quality. Criteria for the Role! Minimum 3-5 years of experience in backend development. Strong proficiency in Node.js and MongoDB, with hands-on experience in schema design, aggregation pipelines, and optimisation. Knowledge of GraphQL, including schema design, queries, and mutations. JD Full Stack Developer *Confidential and Internal *Page | 2 Experience in building and scaling microservices architecture for high-traffic systems. ability to design and implement scalable backend systems, including solutions for data partitioning, sharding, and caching. Experience in debugging and resolving performance bottlenecks in complex backend applications. Proficiency in version control tools like Git. Familiarity with JIRA for task and project management. Knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, CloudFormation) and other tools like Redis, Kafka, or RabbitMQ is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Competency Proactive in identifying and resolving backend performance issues. Analytical skills to optimize backend infrastructure for scalability and efficiency. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams,front-end developers etc. Ability to mentor and guide junior developers, fostering team growth and knowledge sharing. proactive approach to taking full ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables. Consistently delivering high-quality work within agreed timelines. A mindset focused on exploring new tools, technologies, and best practices to stay ahead in backend development.
