About the Job
We are seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer to work on the Threat Platform for Qualys SaaS Products portfolio consisting of Qualys's next-gen security products. You will get to team up with incredibly talented and highly motivated engineers and architects innovating on product processing over millions of data points and handling large scale data every day.

You will be responsible for the product solution design, strategies, and features that will transform and elevate capability of legacy LAMP(PHP, Oracle) based platform to new Java based micro-services, distributed platform to make product feature-rich, more scalable, competitive and would help solve customer security problems and help them be more secured.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology and designing and developing low latency, high throughput distributed applications along with self-motivation and strong customer focus and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Research, prototype, and develop solutions to innovate, transform and migrate legacy LAMP(PHP, Oracle) based threat platform to micro-services, distributed services platform to scale and better cater Qualys' security products.
• Create high-performance APIs, libraries and micro-services that scale to meet/exceed the demands of processing over million transactions and large volume of data on daily basis.
• Develop micro-services, to process data ingestion, data enrichment and data pipeline to deliver required data to required services.
• Research, evaluate and adopt next generation technologies.
• Produce high quality software following good architecture and design principles that you and your team will find easy to work with in the future.
• Analyze, design, code, and debug complex security software.
• Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
• Designing and implementing microservices that use the Spring boot framework.
• Act as a technical mentor to the team and guide team members.
• Review code and set best practices for design, coding, and unit testing.
• Lead product modules independently and collaborate with multiple stakeholders

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on Java engineer who has developed SaaS based software products and solutions for service-oriented deployments in public or private clouds.
• Have built scalable SaaS platforms/products using Sprint Boot based Micro-services/Distributed systems architecture having RESTful API's.
• Leveraged messaging middleware using JMS, AMQP, Kafka, NATS, etc for asynchronous processing for inter-service communication or scaling background processing pipeline.
• Developed/Designed asynchronous backend data processing for large scale data for data fetching, persistence, enrichment.
• Understanding/Worked on In-memory caching using Redis, Mem-cached, etc.
• Experience with designing schema, SQL leveraging RDBMS(Oracle) and NoSQL databases (preferably Cassandra), ElasticSearch/OpenSearch
• Strong Java programming skills including object-oriented design, prototyping, development, testing, profiling, etc.
• Knowledge of JVM concepts like garbage collection, heap, stack, profiling, class loading, etc.
• Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge understanding or Experience in high volume streaming frameworks like Apache Spark, Apache Flink technologies is plus.
• Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate in Computer Science or equivalent.
