Senior Performance Engineer

• We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Software Performance Tester with a strong background in performance and API testing
• The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with JMeter for performance testing, proficiency in APM tools like Dynatrace, Instana, AWS and a proven ability to work on multiple projects while ensuring timely task delivery
• The role also involves client communication and collaboration, making excellent communication skills essential
• Additionally, experience in API testing is critical to the success of the candidate in this role

Key Responsibilities:

• - Lead performance testing efforts using JMeter for load, stress, and scalability testing of web and API applications
• - Design, develop, and execute performance test scripts for both UI and API endpoints to simulate real-world load and identify performance bottlenecks
• - Conduct thorough API testing, including functional, performance, security, and reliability testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar
• - Analyze test results and generate detailed reports with recommendations for performance improvements for both application and API layers
• - Use APM tools (Dynatrace, Instana, AWS) to monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify optimization opportunities across systems
• - Collaborate with development, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration of performance testing into the CI/CD pipeline
• - Debug performance-related issues in applications and APIs, providing actionable solutions for optimization
• - Work on multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion of performance testing tasks within defined project timelines
• - Maintain clear and effective communication with clients to provide updates, discuss findings, and address performance-related concerns for both applications and APIs
• - Contribute to the development of best practices and strategies for performance and API testing
• - Continuously improve knowledge of performance and API testing tools, methodologies, and emerging technologies

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• - Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• - Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in Software Performance Testing, with a focus on both web and API performance testing
• - Strong expertise in performance testing with JMeter (load, stress, endurance testing)
• - Experience with API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar for functional and performance API testing
• - Proficiency in using APM tools such as Dynatrace, Instana, and AWS for performance monitoring and diagnostics
• - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS for performance testing in distributed environments
• - Solid debugging skills to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in complex applications and APIs
• - Deep understanding of web technologies, APIs, databases, and networking concepts
• - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
• - Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and findings clearly and concisely
• - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• - Knowledge of scripting languages (e g, Groovy, Python) is a plus
• - Certification in performance testing or related fields is a plus

Preferred Skills:

• - Experience with other performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, Gatling, or Neoload
• - Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or similar
• - Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices-based architectures
• - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
