SSIS/SSAS Developer

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled SSIS/SSAS Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing, optimizing, and managing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular models. The role involves working with large datasets, designing efficient data models, ensuring high-performance ETL processes, and implementing robust security measures. The candidate should also be well-versed in Power BI, Azure Analysis Services for SSAS models. Ability to handle a team of 2-3 people and also interact with the customer directly on a regular basis.

Objectives of this role

• Develop and maintain SSAS Tabular models, ensuring optimal data integration and performance.

• Design and implement efficient ETL workflows using SSIS, handling data from multiple sources. • Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across SSAS and SSIS solutions.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

• Optimize data models, indexing, and performance tuning for better query execution and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage data source connections and integrate tables into Tabular models.

• Design and optimize data models, including table relationships, DAX calculations, and calculation groups.

• Implement partitioning, perspectives, and both static & dynamic Row-Level Security (RLS).

• Develop solutions using XMLA scripts when required.

• Manage data processing and scheduled refreshes to ensure up-to-date reporting.

• Perform measure validation using SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio).

• Work with Azure Analysis Services, ensuring cost-effective scaling and performance.

• Design and develop ETL packages to extract, transform, and load data from SQL Server, Excel, Flat Files, APIs, etc.

• Work with data warehouses, star/snowflake schemas, and fact/dimension tables.

• Optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing for performance.

• Configure SQL Server Agent jobs for scheduling and execution monitoring.

• Implement error handling, logging, and notification mechanisms in SSIS packages.

Required skills and qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 2-4 years' experience around designing, developing, and optimize ETL workflows and Tabular models.

The role involves data integration, performance tuning, security implementation, and CI/CD deployments in SQL Server, SSAS, SSIS, and Azure Analysis Services. Ideal candidates should have expertise in DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and troubleshooting ETL processes.

Skills that are good to have, but not mandatory

• Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Databricks

• Experience working on PowerBI
