R&D Engineer

Job Description / Responsibilities

1. Hardware & Embedded Systems Development

• Design and develop PCBs, embedded circuits, and IoT-based hardware.
• Work with microcontrollers, sensors, power management circuits, and communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, CAN, MODBUS).
• Develop firmware/software for control units and real-time monitoring systems.
• Optimize hardware for power efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with software engineers for seamless hardware-software integration.

2. Testing, Debugging & Compliance

• Perform functional testing, validation, and debugging of electronic prototypes.
• Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers for troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC, RoHS, REACH, CE, IS, BIS, and other safety standards.

3. Procurement & Supply Chain Management

• Source and procure electronic components, microcontrollers, sensors, and PCBs as required for projects.
• Support mass production by coordinating with the SMT, THT, and Pick & Place machine operations departments, if needed.

4. Manufacturing & Assembly Line Support

• Assist in prototype development and the transition of designs to mass production.
• Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes (DFM, DFT).

Embedded Systems & Firmware Development

Skills: C, C++, Python, Embedded C, etc.

Microcontrollers & Development Boards:

• ESP32, STM32, ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC, Raspberry Pi, Arduino

Circuit Design & PCB Layout:

• Tools: Proteus, EasyEDA, Altium, KiCad, Eagle

Power Electronics:

• Power supply design, Battery management, DC-DC converters

Analog & Digital Electronics:

• Signal processing, ADC/DAC, Operational Amplifiers (Op-Amps)

Testing & Debugging Tools:

• Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers

Hardware Communication Protocols:

• I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, MODBUS, CAN Bus

Compliance & Standards:

• EMI/EMC, RoHS, CE, IS, BIS

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• IoT Security: Encryption, Secure Boot, TLS/SSL
• Database & Data Management: MySQL, MongoDB, InfluxDB
