Role & responsibilities
Able to lead a team of designers in the project as a Lead designer and communicate to Chief
Engineer / Project Engineer for designer needs / project requirements.
2. Conducts Technical meeting highlight the best practices, quality issues, capture the trends and
find ways for improvement. Conduct brainstorming session, workshop at appropriate time.
3. Develops go by drawings for future reference/use.
4. Co-ordinates discipline technical training programs as per training calendar.
5. Promotes and encourage teamwork and mentor future lead designers.
6. Conducts root cause analysis of errors with the team and arrive at the feasible best solution.
7. Develops positive attitude towards learning and development within team.
8. Prepares a planner for deliverables and monitor the trend between planned actual.
9. Able to discuss quality related issues and resolve them proactively in a timely manner.
10. Familiar with work sequence and deliverables and ensure the workflow in a project through
project engineers and leads able to set norms for CAD effort for various revisions.
11. Identifies the requirement of the technical work practices to ensure the team deliver as per
standard.
12. Identifies MPP requirement on monthly basis and prepare workload chart.
Responsible for supporting the objectives of the Health, Safety, Environmental and
Sustainability Policies (HSSE&S), Quality Policy and Information Security Management Policy
by adhering to applicable Procedures and Work Practices while fulfilling of duties.
2. Give technical assistance to the designers whenever required.
3. Check the Designers work for accuracy, layout, quality, and completeness including a random
soft check of the database.
4. Develop a backup to maintain the robustness of the drafting team.
5. Chair regular meetings with the Designers working on the project, produce brief notes of the
meeting.
6. Generate project specific designer instructions.
7. Communicate with the counterpart / client instantly and effectively for resolution.
8. Liaise with the SPP&ID Administrator / Systems specialist for symbol requests and database
changes as required.
9. Advise Chief Engineer for individual Designer training needs.
10. Analyse the observations of the audits through trend charts and prepare the plan of action to
set the process to eliminate the most occurring observation.
11. To capture the changes in various project are monitored (ex. for the number of passes) and
raise change flag.
12. Conduct Technical meeting and discuss about best practices, quality issues with the leads of
the project engineering discipline.
13. Challenge the inconsistencies on mark-ups. Raise queries with respective project engineer.
14. Collects lessons learnt details from various projects and share the information with the drafting
team.
15. Audit the project designers deliverables.
16. Advise the Project Engineers / Process Engineers towards completion of drawings.
Preferred candidate profile
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering Design.
2. Ability to check engineering design deliverables in a multi-discipline task force-based
engineering design environment (Desirable).
3. Experience in FEED or EPC engineering design in Project execution (Desirable).
4. Proven expertise in softwares such as SPPID, AVEVA P&ID, AutoCAD and MicroStation.
