What Youll Do

As a Product Manager for Global Integrations, you will collaborate with our Product and Engineering teams to translate product and user requirements into an executable solution design. Main areas of focus will be on understanding multiple platforms in the portfolio, Avalara products, services, and content, tax compliance concepts, general accounting principles, and ERP workflows. You will be part of the global integrations product team that is creating integrations between Avalara and ERP platforms to allow growth and seamless flow between Avalaras products and services and our Partners platforms. You will be reporting to Manager, Product Management. This will be a hybrid role.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

• Work in collaboration with the Product Manager(s), Engineers, and Technical Writers on your team to translate business and customer requirements into technical solution designs for our integrations.
• Develop clear and detailed, solution designs that encompass the technical and our requirements with proper transactional workflows, data types, attributes, and UI/UX elements.
• API and Workflow analysis of all sales process transactions on ERP, e-Commerce, and Marketplace Platforms.
• Have a thoughtful understanding of compliance use cases around sales tax, VAT, GST and Vendor Charge Tax.
• Be an end-to-end Subject Matter Expert on our integrations with Avalara products and services in the context of the function and use within the Partner Platforms.
• Have a detailed workflow understanding of QuickBooks Online (SaaS) platforms and QuickBooks Desktop (on-premises) platforms.
• Understanding of APIs (REST vs SOAP) and their limitations and use cases within our portfolio of integrations.

What Youll Need to be Successful

• Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (accounting, business, or computer science)
• Minimum 6 years overall professional career experience in a similar role
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Management, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Software Business Analyst, or Engineering in SaaS-based ERP solutions.
• 3+ years of experience documenting integration points or customer-facing workflows for ERP platforms
• QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) ERP experience preferred or other upper midmarket to enterprise level SaaS ERPs (Microsoft, NetSuite, SAP, and Oracle) is required.
• Understand ERP and Accounting terminology and concepts.
• Experience engaging with current and prospective customers to understand their needs, workflows, and context.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and commonly used tools such as Jira, Confluence.
• Experience creating customer journey maps to define end-to-end customer experiences.
• Conduct small-group briefings and demonstrations of our solutions both internally and externally with customers and partners.
