Senior Financial Accountant

Responsibilities

Financial Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records of the company13
• Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments2
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements12

Accounting Tasks

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable34
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts34
• Handle payroll processing and management34
• Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary accounts3

Financial Analysis and Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports12
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to inform business decisions1
• Monitor budget variances and handle budget inquiries3
• Assist in creating annual budgets and financial forecasts3

Compliance and Controls

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations12
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls3
• Assist with tax preparation and filing1
• Prepare for and assist with external audits2

Cash Management

• Monitor cash flow and manage cash positions34
• Reconcile cash receipts and prepare cash reports3

Asset Management

• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules3
• Manage inventory accounting if applicable

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3
• 7+ years of experience in accounting or a related role3
• CPA certification preferred but not always required for small companies

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems3
• Advanced Excel skills3
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)1

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities1
• Excellent attention to detail1
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal3
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively1
• Adaptability to handle various accounting tasks in a small company environment.
