Research Technician

Job description

We are seeking candidates to operate and maintain sophisticated instruments at the

Sophisticated Instrumentation Facility (SIF). Responsibilities include handling various

equipment, analyzing samples, and ensuring proper usage and maintenance of the

instruments.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Management: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and calibration of

advanced scientific instruments.

• User Support: Provide support to users on instrument operation and experimental

techniques.

• Data Management: Ensure proper data collection, storage, and analysis protocols are followed.

• Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols and guidelines for facility operations.

• Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control standards for experiments and instrument performance.

• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of instrument usage,

maintenance, and experimental results.

• Must be willing to work in shifts if required.

Qualification

• A Master's degree in a relevant field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Materials science).

• Experience with sophisticated instrumentation and data analysis.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Minimum Requirements

• A recent Master's degree candidate with at least 6 months to 3year of experience in a research environment, specifically with hands-on experience operating advanced

instrumentation in an accredited laboratory (e.g., FTIR, UV-Vis, HPLC, GC/GC-MS,

Elemental analysis instruments, XRD).
