PGT Biology

The PGT Biology teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Biology to senior secondary school students. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, assessing student performance, and contributing to the overall academic and personal development of students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:
  
• Plan and deliver Biology lessons to students in secondary and senior secondary grades.
• Create and implement engaging lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Conduct practical experiments and demonstrations to enhance understanding of biological concepts.
• Prepare and present lectures on complex topics in Biology, ensuring clarity and student engagement.
• Assessment and Evaluation:
  
• Design and administer quizzes, tests, and exams to assess student understanding and progress.
• Evaluate and grade student assignments, lab reports, and projects.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning and improvement.
• Student Support:
  
• Offer additional support and tutoring to students who need help with Biology concepts.
• Address individual student needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and curiosity.
• Curriculum Development:
  
• Assist in the development and revision of the Biology curriculum in line with educational standards.
• Stay updated with current trends and advancements in Biology and integrate relevant topics into the curriculum.
• Classroom Management:
  
• Maintain a well-organized, safe, and conducive learning environment.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure productive and respectful behavior.
• Professional Development:
  
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
• Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and conferences to stay informed about educational best practices and developments.

• Collaboration and Communication:
  
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and student development.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.

Qualifications:

• Educational Requirements: Bachelors/Masters degree in Biology and B.Ed.
• Experience: Previous teaching experience at the secondary school level is preferred.
