SQL Server DBA

About us:

• Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure reliability, efficiency, and security.
• Perform database tuning, optimization, and capacity planning to meet evolving business needs.
• Monitor and manage database performance, resolving issues and ensuring high availability and uptime.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and schema designs for improved performance.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patches while minimizing downtime and risk.
• Create and maintain documentation, including database standards, procedures, and configurations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and collaborate with other Game Server teams as needed.

• 5-8 years MS SQL Server Administration experience required.
• Work experience in handling high volume database (say roughly 5TB minimum) in transactional replication environment (publisher, distributor, subscriber) OR Always On with hand on Index Management.
• Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting database issues.
• Expert on high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Experience with database backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Expertise in implementing security measures, managing user access, permissions, and roles.
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
• Deep understanding of SQL Server internals - How data is physically organized, what are indexes, statistics, bad cardinality, data skew, tables refactoring etc.
• Ability to understand execution plans (all join types, spools, scans etc.) quickly find source of problem and come up with a solution.
