Best suited candidate is one with product & business experience, with a Tier 1 MBA and approx 13+ years of work experience.
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Business Head for Interiors to lead the launch and growth of a new business vertical within our rapidly expanding, service-driven B2B2C SaaS startup. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our interiors division, blending strategic vision, operational excellence, and financial growth. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with a strong track record in driving business growth, optimizing operations, and building high-performing teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Vision & Business Planning:
- Define and execute the strategic vision and business plan for the new interiors division, aligned with the company's overall goals.
- Identify new market opportunities, define the target audience, and develop initiatives to expand the division's market share and revenue.
- Drive long-term growth by positioning the division as a leader in the interior design and solutions space for B2B2C customers.
Operational Leadership & Execution:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the interiors division, ensuring efficient management of resources, processes, and workflows.
- Streamline operations, implement best practices, and drive productivity improvements to optimize service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Ensure smooth collaboration between the interiors division and other business units, especially product, sales, and technology teams, to maximize cross-functional alignment.
Financial Management & Growth:
- Take ownership of the division's financial health, including preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.
- Drive profitability by managing costs, controlling expenses, and optimizing revenue streams.
- Monitor key financial KPIs, ensuring the division meets revenue targets and delivers sustainable growth.
Client and Market Engagement:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients, partners, industry influencers, and stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, establishing the division as a thought leader in the interior solutions space.
- Contribute to the development of innovative, inspiring interior designs and spaces that align with the needs and expectations of both users and clients.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, including project managers, designers, and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
- Build and scale the team as the division grows, ensuring the right talent is in place to support both operational excellence and client needs.
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 10-15 years of leadership experience in business management, strategic planning, or operational roles, ideally within the startup space. We are business vertical agnostic and keen on having a versatile candidate on board, who can be an entrepreneur in residence.
- Proven track record of launching and scaling a new business vertical, driving growth, and managing complex projects from inception to execution.
- Experience in B2B2C SaaS-based organisations or similar business models is a plus.
Leadership & Vision:
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience building and leading high-performing teams.
- Ability to set and communicate a clear vision for the division, inspiring and aligning internal teams and external partners towards common goals.
Business Acumen & Financial Management:
- Exceptional business acumen with a deep understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience in driving profitability and managing cost structures in a growth-focused business.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Client Relationship Management:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Expertise in client engagement, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
Operational Excellence:
- Proven ability to optimize processes, drive efficiency, and scale operations effectively.
- Experience in streamlining workflows, enhancing productivity, and ensuring high levels of service delivery.
Adaptability & Entrepreneurial Spirit:
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing market demands, evolving customer needs, and internal priorities.
Education: Academic Qualifications: MBA from a Tier-1 institution (preferred).
