Lead II - DevOps Engineering (Azure DevOps)

Position Title : Senior DevOps Engineer
Hiring Location : Pune
Experience Range : 5-8 years

Must Have Skills :

• Cloud Services : Proficiency in Microsoft Azure (including Azure PaaS services like Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure API Management, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, and Redis).
• CI/CD Tools : Expertise in GitHub , CI/CD pipelines , Argo CD , Terraform , Helm , and Kubernetes .
• Automation & Scripting : Strong programming and scripting skills in Python , Bash , or Go for custom automation and tooling.
• Containerization : Experience with Docker and container orchestration (especially Kubernetes ).
• Monitoring Tools : Experience with monitoring solutions such as Grafana , Prometheus , or the ELK stack .
• Version Control & Code Management : Expertise in version control , build automation , and code repository management .

Good to Have Skills :

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Familiarity with IaC principles and tools such as Terraform , Argo CD , and Terragrunt .
• Networking : Knowledge of basic networking concepts and protocols.
• Security Practices : Understanding of cloud security best practices, especially in Azure environments.
• Testing & Code Reviews : Experience implementing testing frameworks and performing code reviews to ensure IaC remains secure and maintainable.
• Agile/Scrum Methodology : Familiarity with Agile/Scrum work environments.

Experience :

• 6-8 years of demonstrable experience in DevOps , software infrastructure development , and supporting cloud-based environments.
• Hands-on experience in automating, deploying, and managing cloud-based infrastructure, primarily using Microsoft Azure .
• Proven expertise in managing CI/CD pipelines , containerized applications, and using automation tools for infrastructure management.

Position Purpose :

We are seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to streamline development, deployment, and operations processes. This role requires a strong background in CI/CD pipelines , cloud services (primarily Microsoft Azure ), and automation tools (including GitHub , Argo CD , Terraform , Kubernetes , Grafana , and Helm ). The ideal candidate will have strong scripting/programming skills to create custom automation scripts and tooling.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties :

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with development and operations teams.
• Automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructure using tools such as Terraform , Argo CD , and Terragrunt .
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across servers, networking, databases, and cloud environments.
• Deploy and manage applications and services in Azure cloud platforms.
• Create and manage containerized applications with Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes .
• Ensure scalability , availability , and security of infrastructure.
• Implement and manage version control , build automation , and code repository management .
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve development and deployment workflows.
• Maintain, monitor, and enhance production environment performance, security, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure, automation procedures, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in incident management and contribute to post-incident reviews for improvements.

Qualifications :

• Education : Must have a MS/BE in Computer Science , Engineering , Information Systems , or a related field, or relevant work experience.
• Required Knowledge :
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e. g. , Python , Bash , Go ).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus , Grafana , or ELK stack .
  • Understanding of IaC principles and cloud security practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems .
  • Agile/Scrum experience is a plus.
