Estimation - Tendering Engineer / Architect

Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. Tender Documentation: Independently prepare and fill out interior project tenders, ensuring that all sections of the tender documents are accurately completed, including cost estimation, technical details, and rate analysis.

2. Rate Analysis & Cost Estimation:

• Perform detailed rate analysis for all interior work items including flooring, ceilings, partitions, fixed and loose furniture, interior decoration items, and civil finishing items.
• Calculate and prepare cost estimates for MEP work items (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) by evaluating material costs, labor rates, and overheads. Ensure all cost estimations are comprehensive and competitive while maintaining profitability.

3. Quantification and Bill of Quantities (BoQ): Quantify the required quantities of materials, labor, and time for each work item and prepare a Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for the tender submission.

4. Technical Analysis: Review the project specifications, drawings, and scope of work in detail to ensure that the rate analysis and cost estimation accurately reflect the requirements outlined in the tender documents.

5. Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to determine the current prices of materials and labor, ensuring that the rate analysis remains aligned with prevailing market conditions.

6. Coordination with Suppliers and Contractors:

• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to get the most competitive quotes for materials and services required for the tender.
• Ensure that the cost estimation reflects the actual market pricing for all interior and MEP items, and include any contingencies for potential price fluctuations.

7. Preparation of Tender Submission:

• Compile all relevant documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates into a well-organized tender submission.
• Ensure that all submission requirements are met, including deadlines, and follow the internal approval process for bid submission.

Required Skills:

• Capable of filling Interiors tender independently with detail rate analysis / cost estimation of flooring items, Ceilings, partitions, fixed and loose furniture Interior Decoration Items, Civil Finishing Items & MEP Work Items.
• Fast use of internet to find new suppliers.
• Skilled in using MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook / Emails. Fast typing and computer usage

Desired Profile of the Candidate:

• Minimum 3-4 years experience in tendering and rate analysis in Civil, Interior Industry
• Strong background in interior execution with hands-on experience in both designing and construction aspects.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and clients.
• Ability to manage project timelines and budgets effectively.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture
• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Interiors, or Interior Design
• Vocational Course or Degree in Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or Architecture
