Staff Nurse

Role & responsibilities

• Patient care: Provide direct care to patients who are ill, injured, disabled, or recovering
• Medication: Administer medication to patients according to a doctor's instructions
• Patient education: Teach patients and their families about treatments, after-care, and disease prevention
• Vital signs: Monitor and interpret a patient's vital signs
• Patient safety: Ensure patient safety and well-being, including keeping rooms and supplies clean and sanitary
• Communication: Communicate with patients, family members, doctors, and other healthcare professionals
• Supervision: Instruct, motivate, and supervise junior nurses
• Care plans: Develop and implement care plans for patients
• Medical records: Review and maintain patient medical records
• Diagnostic tests: Arrange and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess a patient's needs
• Emotional support: Provide emotional and psychological support to patients
