Position Overview:

As a Backend Developer, you will be working with Node.js and associated backend technologies, utilizing your knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL), microservices, and API development. You will play a critical role in architecting, coding, debugging, testing, and deploying backend components while working in an Agile environment. You are expected to mentor junior developers, lead design discussions, and contribute to the overall architecture and performance of the application.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Work closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Architect and build microservices and RESTful APIs to support new and existing features.
• Ensure the robustness and scalability of the backend through effective testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and gather project requirements, ensuring alignment with technical strategies.
• Lead technical discussions, contribute to design decisions, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Write unit tests and perform end-to-end debugging from the browser to the database, ensuring high-quality code delivery.
• Manage databases (SQL/MySQL, NoSQL/MongoDB), ensuring data integrity and optimizing database performance.
• Handle file uploads/downloads, cron jobs, and email services from Node.js environments.
• Work with Identity and Access Management (IAM), session management, JWT for secure access control.
• Use Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions in sprints.
• Mentor junior developers and guide the team in technical aspects, conducting code reviews and enforcing best practices.
• Ensure seamless integration and deployment across multiple environments using environment variables and configuration management.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in JavaScript (ES6 or later) and Node.js, with experience in NPM module management.
• Strong knowledge of API development, async operations, promises, and WebSockets.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, schema design, and data validation.
• Experience with IAM, JWT, session management, and performance engineering.
• Knowledge of Linux commands and Agile Scrum practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience with microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Familiarity with security best practices, including data protection and access control mechanisms.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization tools is a plus.
