Financial Controller

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Controller to oversee the financial operations of our Iron Ore Beneficiation plant in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the finance department, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations, preparing financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, and optimizing financial performance at the site. This is a leadership position that will directly report to the senior management and play a key role in driving financial decisions for the organization.

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations for the Plant site, including general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax laws, accounting standards, and regulations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead and manage financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and ensure proper management of receivables, payables, and inventories.
• Review and approve all accounting transactions, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
• Manage audits (internal and external) and coordinate with auditors to ensure timely completion and reporting.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making processes.
• Manage the preparation of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
• Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and optimize resource allocation.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and alignment with company goals.
• Conduct cost analysis and cost control measures for mining operations to improve financial efficiency.

Preferred candidate profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
• 7-12 years of experience in finance, accounting, and financial management, preferably in the mining or manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent understanding of Indian tax laws, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
• Experience in managing audits, statutory and internal compliance.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to provide strategic financial insights.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and in a remote work environment.
