Chief Procurement Officer

Responsibility & Mandate:

- Responsible for developing a procurement strategy ensuring least cost of procurement.

- Responsible for strategic procurement ensuring cost efficient sourcing

- Responsible for new vendor development

- Responsible for structured continuous cost improvement programme

- Responsible for implementing Supplier Relationship Management with key vendors.

- Responsible for driving rejection control programme collaborating with vendors and quality team.

- Responsible for setting up systems and review mechanism to ensure on time and launch of new products.

- Responsible for creating budgets for procurement ensuring adherence.

- Responsible for coaching and mentoring the team to performance oriented culture.

- Responsible for developing a review system that promotes efficiency and improves overall functional performance

Main Tasks:

- To ensure continuous cost optimization program identified and delivered as per targets.

- To ensure least costs procurement.

- To ensure there is a development of the team for them to assume higher responsibilities.

- To ensure there is continuous optimization in the working capital locked up in the system.

Candidate Profile:

- Graduate with a PG Diploma/ MBA in operations would be preferred.

- 15+ years of industry experience in commodity buying preferably in spices.

- 3 years of Procurement leadership experience in a Food company.

Experience:

- Experience in key commodity buying e.g. spices, wheat, pulses etc.

- 3 years of leadership experience.

- Hands on experience in designing processes and systems

- Worked with change management.

- Must have worked for a professionally managed and run organisation.
