Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop software using Shell scripting, Tcl/Tk, Java, and Perl
• Create and maintain automation scripts for deployment, testing, and system configuration
• Develop and enhance GUI applications using Tcl/Tk for system administration and monitoring
• Build robust, scalable, and maintainable Java applications that integrate with our core systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments
• Collaborate with team members to improve development processes and standards
• Implement security best practices in all software solutions
• Document code, architectures, and technical processes
• Mentor junior team members on technical practices and standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 5+ years of experience in software development with focus on systems programming
• Strong proficiency in Shell scripting (Bash, Ksh, etc.) for automation and systems management
• Demonstrated experience developing applications with Tcl/Tk for GUI creation
• Advanced knowledge of Java development, including enterprise frameworks and multithreading
• Experience with Perl programming for text processing, data manipulation, and systems administration
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of network programming and protocols
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization
• Familiarity with Git and other version control systems
• Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Python for additional scripting capabilities
• Background in embedded systems or real-time applications
• Professional certifications relevant to software development or systems engineering
