Plant operators are responsible for operating a variety of machinery and equipment, such as pumps, turbines, boilers, and compressors

They must be able to operate the equipment safely and efficiently, following established procedures and protocols

Monitor equipment performance: Monitor the performance of machinery and equipment, making adjustments as needed to ensure that they operate at optimal levels

They must be able to identify and address any issues that arise, such as equipment malfunctions or operational errors

Conduct routine maintenance: Plant operators are responsible for conducting routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed

They must be able to follow maintenance schedules and protocols to ensure that equipment operates effectively and efficiently

Troubleshoot problems: Plant operators must be able to troubleshoot problems with machinery and equipment, using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues and make necessary repairs

They must be able to recognize potential problems and take corrective actions to prevent equipment failures

Ensure safety and compliance: Plant operators must adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure that they and other employees are not put at risk

They must also comply with environmental and health regulations, such as those related to emissions and waste disposal
