JOB DESCRIPTION - Commercial Architect (Interior Fit Outs)

Job Summary:
The Commercial Architect will lead and manage the design and execution of interior fit-out projects. The role requires expertise in creating innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing interior spaces. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and contractors to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Design & Concept Development:
• Lead the design process from concept to completion for interior fit-out projects.
• Develop creative and innovative design solutions tailored to the client's needs, budget, and space.
• Produce detailed architectural drawings, 3D models, mood boards, and material specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies and space planning.
2. Project Management:
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of interior fit-out projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
• Manage and resolve any design or site challenges during construction.
• Regularly visit project sites to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
3. Client & Stakeholder Management:
• Engage with clients to understand their vision, functional needs, and budget requirements.
• Present design concepts and solutions to clients and stakeholders.
• Manage client expectations and foster long-term client relationships through excellent project delivery.

1. Team Leadership:
• Mentor and guide junior architects/designers in the development of interior fit-out projects.
• Review team members' work to ensure design quality and adherence to project goals.
• Facilitate communication between design, construction, and other departments.
2. Technical & Regulatory Knowledge:
• Ensure that all designs comply with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and other relevant laws.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and advancements in interior architecture and design.
• Implement sustainable design practices where applicable.
3. Documentation & Detailing:
• Prepare comprehensive working drawings, detailing interior layouts, furniture design, electrical, mechanical, and lighting plans.
• Ensure all design documentation is accurate, organized, and submitted in a timely manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in architecture, with a minimum of 4 years in interior fit-out design and execution.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of interior construction techniques, materials, finishes, and building codes.
• Project Experience: Proven track record of managing high-end commercial, residential, or hospitality interior fit-out projects.
• Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, especially on-site with contractors and design challenges.
