Job Title: Medical Billing SpecialistCredit Balance Refunds

Shift: Night Shift Only (5:30 PM IST to 2:30 AM IST)

Roles and Responsibilities

Job Description

• Identify research and review accounts with credit balances.
• Transfer credits when appropriate within a patient or guarantor account.
• Post all unposted and misapplied patient payments.
• Review and resolve all patient/guarantor address issues.
• Initiate patient and insurance refunds.
• Maintain accurate medical billing records and document revenue from patient payments and insurance reimbursements.
• Post credit balance adjustment for approved refunds.
• Meet production and quality expectations outlined by management.
• Balance refund batches according to client guidelines.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of US health insurance plans and government payers.
• Knowledge of EOBs (Explanation of Benefits).
• Knowledge of medical terminology is likely to be encountered in medical claims.
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 Coding.
• Knowledge and understanding of the patients health information confidentiality guidelines and procedures in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
• Experience working with billing software and/or practice management software.
• Data entry and typing skills.
• Good written communication skills.
• Ability to process a high volume of work while keeping attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good computer skills to work with billing software, practice management systems, and Microsoft
